I know most of are aware that Baking Soda can be used for almost everything… from scrubbing your kitchen to brushing your teeth, curing your heartburn and deodorizing your freezer.  But did you know it makes an awesome facial exfoliant?

You can simply wet your face and apply the baking soda, rubbing in gentle circular motions (be careful around the delicate eye area).  The soda helps to dry up excess oil while rubbing away dead skin cells.

I’m enjoying using baking soda more than my brand name exfoliating face washes because the granules are much smaller and stronger- my face actually looks polished once I’ve rinsed it with water.

SPECIAL TIP:  You can mix a little baking soda with some jojoba oil and rub your face in small circular motions to REALLY effectively loosen up and removed the oil in clogged pores, hydrate and exfoliate your skin.  Jojoba oil is very special and is extremely similar to the natural sebum that your skin produces.  For this reason it won’t clog your pores, but can actually help to dissolve the oily buildup in them… think about it…. when you wash your face with water, water and oil don’t mix!  Any cleansing comes from the friction of washing your face and whatever soap/cleanser you are using.  If you use jojoba oil instead of water and give your skin a good rub, the oil helps to dissolve and loosen the oils and dead skin cells on your skin, truly cleansing it and helping restore its moisture balance.
